Gently blot up as much liquid as possible, using paper towels or an absorbent cloth. However, do not rub – this will cause the stain to penetrate deeper. Especially with tea, you need to move fast. Then, using a dilute detergent and water solution, sponge the area, using the minimum amount of water necessary for the task. Soda water is also a very good option for sponging off the stain – soak the area and then blot dry with clean paper, and repeat until the liquid is clear. Patience is required as some stains can take a while to remove.
Sponge or paper towel quickly absorbing all the moisture you can. Add a tiny bit of vinegar to the water to lessen the smell.Next, make sure you place dry towels or paper towels, under and on top of the carpet stain. Then place something heavy on top of the paper towel/stain anything heavy enough to absorb whatever urine or moisture might be left. Leave this for at least a few hours until moisture is pulled into paper towels. Baking Soda sprinkled on the stain will also help absorb any odors. You can vacuum the baking soda away after a few hours also.
Many customers say that as soon as they place the carpet down in their homes, their pets roll around on the carpet and make it home. Many pets like the smell of lanolin, so they roll around on the carpet after its laid on the floor. They respond to the smell of another animal. You can try spraying air freshener on the carpet to mask the strong fresh lanolin smell they adore.
